RSU Nursing Seniors Volunteer at Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma

Rogers State University nursing seniors spent the day making an impact Friday, Oct. 10, at the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma in Tulsa.

Nearly 40 seniors from RSU’s Claremore campus and Saint Francis extended campus collectively packed more than 17,000 pounds of food to help fight hunger and reduce food insecurity in local communities. This volunteerism not only helped combat hunger but helped the seniors earn clinical hours.

The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is the largest private hunger-relief organization in eastern Oklahoma, with a mission to feed the hungry and end hunger in 24 counties by distributing food through a network of more than 700 partner programs, including food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens.
