RSU, Northeast Tech Enter Agreement to Award RSU College Credit to Northeast Tech Students

Rogers State University and Northeast Tech signed a memorandum of understanding this week to establish a pathway by which qualified Northeast Tech students may receive college credit toward a bachelor’s degree at RSU.

Signing the memorandum were RSU President Dr. Don Raleigh and Northeast Tech Superintendent Derek Beller.

“I think this is a very important agreement. I don’t think there are very many Career Techs and higher education institutions working this closely together,” Raleigh said. “We just saw an opportunity to collaborate and create opportunities for students that hadn’t been there before.”

RSU’s Stratton Taylor Library to Host ‘Paws & Relax’ Event May 4 and 5

When it comes to finals week, better “ruff” than rough.

Rogers State University invites RSU students to ease the pressure of finals week with the return of the “Paws & Relax” event.

Slated for 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 4, and Tuesday, May 5, in the second-floor lounge of the Stratton Taylor Library, “Paws & Relax” brings therapy dogs to campus with whom students may interact to help calm the stress that often accompanies finals week.

All therapy dogs attending the event are trained and certified.

RSU Alumni Honored at 2026 Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony April 25

 

Three former Hillcats were honored last weekend at the fourth annual RSU Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Held Saturday, April 25, in the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center on RSU’s Claremore campus, the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Awards was co-hosted by the RSU Foundation and RSU Alumni Association to recognize alumni of note for their personal and professional achievements and service, and for bringing regional, statewide and/or national distinction to themselves and their alma mater, Rogers State University and its predecessor institutions.

RSU, Light of Hope Host Opioid & Fentanyl Awareness Town Hall April 28

Rogers State University will host a Town Hall event Tuesday afternoon to raise awareness of the fentanyl crisis and the opioid epidemic and their negative impacts on families across the region.

Slated for Tuesday, April 28, the event will feature a panel of experts to discuss the importance of awareness about the growing fentanyl problem. The Opioid and Fentanyl Awareness Town Hall will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Conference Room B of the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center on Rogers State University’s Claremore campus.
